 Art and Design Intent Statement

At St Vincent’s Catholic Primary, we recognise the vital role of art and design and understand that it should be fully inclusive to every child. We focus on allowing our children to develop their creativity, set challenges, engage and inspire and equip them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. 

We believe that by developing this, we can contribute to the quality of our children’s lives, both within and beyond school. We see art and design as a means to support learning in a range of ways. The skills that are developed in these subjects can be transferred across the curriculum and thus aid learning.
