Physical Education
Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.

PE Intent Statement
St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School recognises the value of a high-quality Physical Education (P.E.) curriculum. We fully adhere to the aims of the National Curriculum for physical education to ensure that all children:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- are physically active for sustained periods of time
- engage in a variety of competitive sports and activities
- lead healthy, active lives
We believe that PE encourages children to develop positive attitudes towards leading a healthy lifestyle and enables them to make informed choices about physical activity throughout their lives. By exposing children to a variety of sports throughout their primary school career, we strive to inspire children to keep physically active and find enjoyment through sport while developing key life values of perseverance, compassion, respect and cooperation. Throughout their time at St Vincent’s, we aim to develop our children’s love of sport and other activities as they welcome opportunities to compete which allows them to grow and become more confident.
