Special Educational Needs and Disability
The changes in the Children and Families Bill 2014 affects the way children with special educational needs and disability are supported in school. It places pupils at the centre of planning.
St Vincent’s school aims to provide a caring, nurturing and reflective learning environment where all children, regardless of their abilities, can develop to their full potential. Our school recognise that it caters for a wide range of learning needs and styles.
We firmly believe that all children have the right to education and recognise the diverse educational needs within our community. We acknowledge those needs may change and require a range of provision.
We believe that we have a duty to offer that provision where we can, to foster inclusion and provide full educational access and this means that some children may need increased support to access learning for a wide variety of reasons.
Facilities for Disabled Pupils
The school is all built on one level and has ramped wheelchair access to the dining hall. We have a disabled toilet in the main building.
